- POL SMART GOAL FOR SEMESTER 2, 2015:
My plan is to talk at least one through three times when ever we have a group seminar or any type of group work in any of my classes. I shall achieve this goal by speaking up and saying my ideas to everyone or what my point is. I will do this until the end of April so that by the time the school year is over I will be proud about it. I will check in with my advisory every Wednesday afternoon to check on my grades and see if I turned in all of my projects for each class.

Which project did you have the most personal connection with this year? Why?
The project that I had the most personal connection to was the Mask Project because I was able to express myself and be able to show it to other people that didn't know much about me and you were able to pick what represented you and why you put it on their.
What have you learned (skill, lesson, or knowledge) this year that will be most helpful for you in the future?
I would say my writing skills because in the being of the year my writing skills weren't the best and now that the year is over I would say that my writing skills have improved a lot and this will be helpful in the future because i'm sure there will be lots of writing projects in the future.
What project or projects have you done this year that have inspired you to want to learn more? Explain how you were inspired.
I would say the projects that Matt has given us like that Money Manifesto, Death Penalty, Brave New World, and the Shakespeare Project because most of these projects were really interesting and some of them involve real life problems that I didn't look in to and it made me want to learn a lot more about the outside world problems.
How has your attitude toward learning changed this year?
My attitude toward learning has changed a lot this year because in middle school and elementary school you don't have to focus a whole lot but no that were in high school I really had to focus a lot more and you have to be able to turn your projects and homework in on time and your becoming an adult and you have start being one.
What connections have you made this year between what you have learned in your classes and your own personal experiences outside of school?
I would say time management because you really have to manage your time wisely because I'm in sports and sometimes sports can interfere with your school work and you have to be able to find a way to do your school work and outside activities and still be able to turn in your school work on time.
How have your learning and experiences at AHS this year changed the way you see the world?
The projects that we have done in all of the classes have changed the way that I see the world because lie the death penalty, money manifesto, shakespeare, water filter, and political cartoon project have helped me see the world in a different way because in all of those projects you had to find the deeper meaning and looking at both sides of the argument and what the argument is about.
What work from this year would you like to look back on and remember when you are a graduating senior?
When I'm a graduating senior I would want to look back on the reflections that I wrote for projects that we have done because in those reflection you were able to give out your honest feedback and to let the teachers know how you felt about the project and what you thought of the project and some of those reflection I put a lot of effort into them.

What is the most important change that you have made as a learner this year?
The most important change that I have made as a learner this year was my writing skills because they have improved a lot since day one at AHS and now I am able to take feedback from my peers and make my project the best it could be and it is very helpful.
How have you taken an active role in your education this year?
I've taken an active role in my education this year by being a persevere because I have persevered a lot throughout this year because some the projects that I have to do can be a little stressful and they get you really tired and mad so I had to persevere through out the projects this year.
What piece of work that you’ve done this year are you proudest of? Why?
A project that I am most proud of is the Final HUmanities Essay in humanities because it was a pretty big essay and I really had to do my best one it and had to spend all of my time on it to make it the best in could possible and the peers feedback was helpful because i was able to take there feedback and improve my essay. When I finally got done with the last sentence I was so happy that I finished it and just got a lot off my chest, and was proud that I finished it and didn't give up.
If you could go back and refine one piece of work this year, what piece of work would you refine and how would you refine it?
If I could go back and refine a piece of work this year it would be the water filter project in physics because my group didn't really work on it as hard and it wasn't the very best water filter and the best design but I would go back and work on it a lot harder and come up with a different design.
If you were the teacher, what comments would your teacher make about your work habits?
What might you want next year’s teacher to know about your work habits?
I would want my next year teachers to know that I am a hard worker and I am not the loudest person in the whole class but I am a good listener and I like to draw during class sometimes and sometimes if I am not working, I'm just letting my brain refresh and just space out from time to time but I work profishet.
What is the most difficult thing you have done this year? Why was it difficult, and how did you deal with that difficulty?
I would say that the most difficult thing that I have done this year was the Shakespeare project because we had to memorize our lines and work on the final humanities essay and doing that I had to do PARCC testing and that interfered with my time to be able to work on my essay and memorize my lines but I just persevered through it and spent my time wisely throughout the day in class and at home.
How has group collaboration helped you as a student?
Group collaboration has helped me as a student a lot because I wasn't really such a kid that didn't collaborate a whole lot but since the beginning of the year we had to collaborate with lots of people and groups and my collaboration skills have gone up a lot and getting peer feedback is very helpful because they help you improve your projects and essays.

What would you say to an incoming 9th grader about how to succeed in project based learning?
I would tell incoming 9th graders how to succeed in a project based learning is to do their projects right away don't just push it of because you really have to use your time wisely because their will be more projects that will stress you out and to use the advice that the teachers give you.
How have any of the habits of heart and mind helped you be successful as a student or person?
The habits of heart and mind have helped me succeed as a student because I had to use multiply habits of heart and mind to help me get through projects and essays and they have helped me a lot this year.
