College Essay Reflection:
During college boot camp I had a hard time find a prompt to write an essay on because for the colleges that I am interested in they only require a art portfolio instead of essays. But I wanted to be able to have the chance to write a college essay so I had a conference with Jessica Adams and we found a prompt that I could use for my college essay. At first it was seemed difficult to meet the requirements for the essay but once I was able to get into the flow those requirements didn't feel that difficult. Even though I had to write a four page essay I felt even more accomplished once I got it done and it felt like a it was a good way to practice for other essays that could be as long or longer. During peer critiques my essay was the longest in the whole class. I was a little nervous because it was a long essay but while they were reading it they all gave me lots of positive feedback and good constructive feedback as well. When it was time to meet with Lori I was super nervous because she has more experience with college essays than I do but I think that it was important to meet with her because she was able to give me more in depth feedback than my peers did and what I could do to make my essay more better. So I added the refinements and changes to the essay and I feel like it became a good quality college essay. During this whole college essay project I would say the skills that I grew in were my evidence skills because in my essay I had t o answer a series of questions about my and what I have done. For the whole essay I gave good and specific examples from my experience that I have encountered in my life and went more in depth so that they can be more clear and directed to that questions. Overall I feel like I grew as a person and a writer during this college boot camp project.
