Lyrical painting:
I expressed this song through visual imagery by painting a symbolic representation of the the song Hotel California. In the painting I wanted my visual imagery to be a beach sunset becasue that`s the way I saw the song in my head when I would listen to it. The process of the layering that I did was I first started with a blue and purple sunset but then deiced to go with a orange, yellow, and red sunset with the black and purple on top. I then wrote parts of my lyrics on the sunset portion of the painting and then I used a little more colors and covered the lyrics of the song. After that I added in the palm trees to symbolize an area on the beach along with birds flying in the background. From the start I wasn`t to sure what to put on the canvase but after I listened to my song multiple times I figured out what I wanted to put on the canvase and over time I would get more ideas on what to add to the painting. Once I got to the end of what to do with my painting I noticed how it evolved from a blank white canvase to a painting of a song that I choose and how I wanted to visual express that song. The emotions that I`m trying to evoke in my painting is relaxing, mellow, and peaceful feeling. I added these emotions in my painting by having a relaxing looking beach with palm trees and a nice sunset with a few birds. I want people to be able to look at my painting and get that sense of peacefulness and relaxations.
